Age: 20

Personality: The charismatic young man can come across as aloof, uncaring, sometimes even cold to other teachers and students whom Soubi could care less about. He keeps his guard up and keeps many people out. But to his own students, especially during teaching, Soubi appears to be an approachable, sociable, amicable and happy individual.

Outside of teaching, he is a quiet, almost reclusive individual, and keeps to himself, even when he is around those whom he is close to. He is able to maintain a facade of happiness and calmness to those around him, so that they would not worry over him, so that he can keep them safe and happy too, but there are permanent scars inside that would never heal. He is constantly thinking about things even though he may never vocalise his thoughts - he only tells people what is necessary; playing along when he has to, slip in the occasional teasing remark, telling people what they want to hear.

On a more personal, discreet level, Soubi seems to enjoy and desires to be ordered and controlled; the scars on his body and his open admission that he likes pain suggest that he may be a masochist despite the contradicting things he sometimes says. His behaviour may also suggest that he likes younger boys – perhaps this has to do with his insistence on being nice to his students, though, or his tormented upbringing. Regardless, he does insist he is not a pervert.

He happens to be an extraordinary painter, indulging in painting outside of herbology classes, and though he claims to hate butterflies, he enjoys painting them, along with flowers. His affinity with butterflies is also seen with the way they seem to appear or linger around him, or where he might have been.

To the ones Soubi truly cares about, he is a dedicated, fiercely loyal, obedient, selfless individual and is willing to do anything for them - or, at least, almost anything.

The smiling face Soubi portrays a lot is one that reflects his gentle and kind nature, but what belies the smiles is a tortured past he speaks and thinks little of.

Soubi Agatsuma is a walking contradiction, and there are many layers to his personality which make him almost impossible to figure out.

History: Soubi Agatsuma lost his parents in a car accident when he was five, and was taken in and raised as by one of his mother's close friends, who happened to be a senior teacher at Hogwarts at the time. He also studied there, became a pupil of this teacher, and was one of the best, all-rounded students that graduated from Hogwarts.

From the outside, everything seemed fine. But behind closed doors, in the darkness, Soubi was abused by his teacher/caregiver - physically, sexually, emotionally, and this perhaps caused him to withdraw even more into himself. It was generally understood that his caregiver/teacher took a fancy to his mother, and now that she was dead, Soubi became the object of his teacher's desires; the prize to obtain and hold on to. Though Soubi remained obedient, he could not have been happier when he graduated and left Hogwarts at 17. His teacher left a few months after he did, and though Soubi maintains minimal contact with him, Soubi is still unfortunately capable of recalling the important lessons that he was taught in vivid detail.

Soubi lived an ordinary life as a human despite his pure wizard blood, outside of Hogwarts, trying to cut himself off from magic, and he stayed with a young man for a while. This individual was particularly cruel - indiscriminately, towards everyone except for those in his own family - and was also possessive over Soubi. The person that Soubi lived with was responsible for some of the scars on his body, most notably of which is the barb-wire pattern carved around his neck, along with the word 'Beloved' underneath the pattern, which Soubi tends to conceal either with bandages or wearing turtleneck shirts. Soubi was treated more like a slave than a human being, let alone a companion. Even so, he never blamed or despised the man he had come to know as his Master. He became Soubi's purpose - the meaning of his life, his God, and his only reason for existing.

But his God died three years later - murdered and burned in a fire. Hogwarts had also approached him around this time to fill a vacant position in Herbology as teaching staff. With his old teacher gone, there was little reason for Soubi to decline.

He returned to Hogwarts at age 20 and is currently the Herbology professor. He does not particularly like or dislike his job - but so long as trouble stops following him around, he is content with what he is doing. Though he talks little about his past, some of the senior students and definitely most of the teachers would know at least something about the young man that is Soubi Agatsuma.
